I was privileged to be invited to be one of LUMO’s guests at the Scottish Transport Awards Dinner in Glasgow last night. Sadly LUMO didn’t win the award they had been nominated for, in sustainable transport, but it was a very enjoyable dinner and an excellent chance to catch up with Matthew Lee, and be introduced to LUMO’s new MD Martijn Gilbert (also MD of Hull Trains) who has been in post for about 3 weeks. He is keen to engage with pro-rail groups such as SENRUG and I hope to have a further conversation with him soon. I also had a very brief catch-up with Graham Meiklejohn of TransPennine Express. Overall, a very useful evening and thanks to LUMO for inviting me.
