On Friday 5th May, I had a catch-up with Martijn Gilbert, MD of Lumo, at Morpeth station. It was great to have coffee together, talk about Lumo’s current operation and aspirations, and bring to his attention a few teething problems i had experienced, which I know he’ll be keen to resolve. I managed to get a photo of Martijn helping his team wave off one of their trains at Morpeth, which is below. Then tonight I met Martijn and the Lumo team again, this time at a reception in Newcastle to launch some of the new catering products we’ll find on board. the reception also afforded opportunity to catch up with a number of people such as Cllr Richard Wearmouth from NCC, Huw Lewis from Nexus, and Toby Hughes MD of Transport North East. All in all a very useful evening.
