Sky News asked to interview me, initially 13:30, so I rushed home from Church ready to participate live in the programme on Zoom, only to find they had moved it to 17:30. Does anyone actually watch the news at 17:30 on a Sunday afternoon? Anyway, I was speaking on behalf of Railfuture, and hopefully I made some balanced comments. Yes, the level of cancellations has been awful, but there are many good things TPE and their former parent First Group have done, especially when it comes to Morpeth. Difficult to see how the new government owners will make things better without the investment needed to get enough drivers on board, so the company are not dependant on rest day working. I do have a clip of the interview but it seems I’m not allowed to post it due to copyright reasons. A bit rich of Sky News when the only person featured was … me!
