Rumours abound that Bedlington Station on the Northumberland Line will not open with the rest of the line, and some are speculating the station is being cancelled all together. SENRUG has not received any information that the station might be delayed, but has noticed with concern that work at the station seems to have inexplicably ground to a halt. SENRUG has in the past been advised that it might be possible to open the line as a through route before some of the intermediate stations come on stream – that even happened for London’s Elizabeth Line. But unless this is a complete rumour without foundation, it is frustrating we are not being proactively updated on progress, given that it is us that first started the campaign for the re-opening.
