Newsham Station opens on 17th March 2025, the 2nd phase of the opening. On several occasions after the opening, trains have been so full that some passengers have been unable to board. The free car park has also been full to capacity causing difficulties for neighbours in adjoining residential streets. Dates are still awaited for the opening of Bedlington, Blyth-Bebside and Northumberland Park stations.
