This morning I had the Financial Times on the phone, doing a piece on the Northern franchise termination which will apparently be announced this afternoon. This call was actually to me in my role of press spokesperson for Railfuture and I was able to refer the journalist to Railfuture’s excellent press release on the subject. We did also talk about the recent performance of other rail industry companies, causing me to raise the question of whether the wrong player had been sent off! After that, we returned to the subject of the experiences of local Northern passengers, and I gave some examples for both Cramlington and Morpeth.
