Today, myself and Deputy Chair Andrew Carmichael met with Systra, Northumberland County Council and Northern, to discuss the Interim Feasibility Report on extending the hourly Newcastle – Morpeth trains on to Berwick. The results are looking promising. The final report should be ready in a few weeks. After the meeting, I had time for a quick coffee with Cllr Wearmouth to discuss where we are up to, both on this North of Morpeth service, and of course the Ashington re-opening
