Useful meeting today (via Zoom) with Tony Baxter and Pete Myers from Northern. Mainly we discussed rail services as we emerged from lockdown, but we also covered Northern’s response to the draft report on the North of Morpeth local service. I also thanked Northern for finally getting the CIS fixed at Morpeth (except the subway screen which has more difficult problems with the power supply) and for getting the yellow and white lines re-painted at Cramlington station. I was also advised the renovated station building at Morpeth has now been handed back to Northern (congratulations to GMDT who have done a great job) so we can expect to see this in full use, with the extended ticket office opening hours, once lockdown is eased and we are in a position to start welcoming people back to the railway.
