A really constructive meeting today (via Teams) with Kerry Peters, Regional Director at Northern, and some of her colleagues, about the desperate need for timetable improvements at Cramlington. It feels like Northern are at last getting the message. I certainly hope so. With its population now approaching 40,000, Cramlington deserves significantly better than its hourly service, with no arrival into Newcastle before 08:20. SENRUG’s aspiration is for at least 1 and ideally two earlier services before this, then a half-hourly service throughout the day, which we believe should be achieved through two local services per hour: Newcastle – Morpeth – Berwick, and Hexham – Newcastle – Morpeth – Bedlington.
