A useful catch-up today (via Zoom of course) with Ian, who is a strong supporter of SENRUG. We discussed progress on the Ashington Blyth & Tyne re-opening (The Northumberland Line), plus our deep concerns about LNER’s compulsory ticket reservations plan, and the impact that will have on those using LNER services for commuting to and from Morpeth, vulnerable travellers and those who are not IT savvy. A meeting later in the week with a researcher for North of Tyne Mayor Jamie Driscoll has been deferred until after the local elections next week.
