Today, myself and SENRUG Deputy Chair Andrew Carmichael met Cllr Richard Wearmouth, Deputy Leader of Northumberland Council, for an overall progress update and discussion covering both the Northumberland line, the new TPE service starting in December and our aspiration for a local service between Newcastle and Berwick calling at every station. We also exchanged ideas for a new passenger service to Cambois and North Blyth. This was an excellent, constructive meeting and pleased to note that progress on the Northumberland Line remains on track. On the way out of County Hall, we bumped into Wansbeck MP Ian Lavery so had a brief opportunity to say “hi” to him.
