Excellent committee meeting tonight, our first “in person” (the last was a mixture of in-person and Zoom) though sadly a number of people couldn’t make it. Top of the list for discussion were ongoing concerns re the new East Coast Main Line Timetable, admittedly deferred from the original May 2022 implementation date, but we have serious concerns that effectively the same proposals will effectively be re-presented and imposed on us. We also discussed TPE’s new service through Northumberland starting 12th December, which whilst welcome, needs to be upgraded to hourly each way and extended south from Newcastle ie becoming the same train that runs from Newcastle to Leeds, Manchester and Liverpool. And of course our desperate need for an hourly local service calling at all stations, namely Pegswood, Widdrington, Acklington, Chathill and with capacity to add new stops such as Belford once they are opened.
