I was contacted by the Morpeth Herald this afternoon and asked to make a comment on an RMT statement alleging ticket office closures at Morpeth and Alnmouth. We’ve had no statement to this effect from Northern, although the Rail Delivery group have admitted ticket office closures are being considered across the network, but without saying where. Obviously, if there are plans to close these ticket offices, which no doubt would mean de-staffing the stations completely, we would strenuously object.
