We are delighted that not just a North-East MP, but a Northumberland MP has been appointed as the new Secretary of State for Transport. Ms Trevelyan has been strongly supportive of SENRUG’s work, in particular our campaign for an hourly local service between Newcastle and Berwick, and the need for calls at Northumberland stations to be retained in the new LNER timetable, draft 2 of which has still not been published. We hope we can continue to work with Ms Trevelyan to pursue our campaign objectives and are willing to offer support and suggestions from a passenger and pro-rail perspective as she takes on her new role.
