Great to have a catch-up with Northern’s Regional Director Jason Wade and Stakeholder Liaison Manager Matt Croasdale at Morpeth Station today. We met in Green’s café and were joined by their proprietor and of course our Newsletter Editor Marc Stewart. We had a robust and constructive debate on parking charges at Morpeth station, and possibilities for keeping the station building in use even when the ticket office is closed, which of course is related to the parking charge issue. Our two “hot” issues with Northern, namely keeping Morpeth services running through to Carlisle, and at the Morpeth end then continuing them on to Bedlington, very much depend on how the issues with the East Coast Main Line timetable are resolved, but I did feel confidant Northern are giving serious attention to our views. Plus, great to show let our rail managers experience the delicious fayre on offer at Green’s, so thanks Jason and Matt for coming out.
