E-Rail & Land Value Capture

Great opportunity to have a video call today with the team from E-Rail, the Land Value Capture specialists, and appraise them of “what next” – our campaigns for further improvements to rail services in South East and East Northumberland, after the core Northumberland Line has opened. Let’s hope they can support Northumberland County Council in sourcing funding for these projects so we can proceed on with them without further delay. SENRUG is a group with a vision. We just need to better understand how to get things funded and delivered.

  1. Perhaps to extend the reach of the new Northumberland line they might consider bringing some TPE and XCountry services to the Northumberland line and/or Northern doing the same with some Middlesbrough or Carlisle trains. That would certainly make it more appealing and make some previously impossible commutes doable.
Imagine Ashington to York or Northumberland Park(when open) to York. I used to commute North Tyneside to York and the biggest pain was the bus leg coming back on the evening. If I could have got off at Northumberland Park, walked 1.6 miles and skipped the bus leg, life would have been easier.
