Great to be in York today for a very well run Stakeholder Conference with Northern. Interesting to hear more of their news and business constraints, and updates on the new stock procurement process. Very exciting. But the “developing the timetable” session basically concluded we should have started 2 years ago if we want to see Morpeth – Bedlington by December 2025. (Guess what – We did! See our request here). But then there were whispers off exceptions and fast tracks. So I still retain some hope – though of course we’ve got to get Bedlington station actually open first! Seriously though, a useful and productive day, and we thank Northern for their engagement and transparency.
